Do you know that Twitter can be used to increase your pageviews and thus gain more members? Well, you might have known this but do you know how to do it like the professionals?

Anyways, if you haven't made a Twitter for your site, do it now and get it done! Now, there is two ways to go about marketing your site through twitter, one is automated and the other (more rewarding) is manual.

If you want to automate everything, simply head over to http://twitterfeed.com and simply feed your RSS into Twitter through that site. You might not see good results but there should be time when your site will be filled with visitors, usually when a new feed is posted on Twitter. Don't get excited, most of these guests are members.

The manual aspect of doing this is simple and powerful. You must be REAL, meaning you will have to use your sites identity to make friends on twitter. Follow other people, post relevent links, answer the questions others may have.

Also use the hashtag given by twitter. Basically if you run a forum on a sports team, after you write something on twitter. Like let's say you wrote a article on your site and you want to promote it on Twitter. Simply give a summary of that article on Twitter (one sentence) and then give a link, finally use the hashtag. For example, if the team were the Knicks (basketball team), after the summary and link, I'd type in "#knicks" this helps your post get shown in trends.

This should help you expose your site to more people and not just bots.
