So, Google has finally banned the free domain name .CO.CC

Which was offered for free by some domain company. The .CC is the top level domain of some small island and the provider was giving out second level domains for free.

Obviously this attracted spammers and people with bad intent. In the end Google decided to remove all sites that use the extension .CO.CC, which probably affected some teenagers who do not have the means to purchase a domain name.

I kinda feel bad for them but honestly, what can you expect?

I don't feel bad about it at all. It helps with the war on spammers, IMO. :) Besides, if you are that poor not to be able to get a domain name for less than $20.00 a year, then you don't really need to start a website because eventually if you want it to go anywhere, it will cost money!

I think this is one of the best action taken by Google, it becomes easy for the spammers to get such domains at no cost and get ricj in easy ways by using these free domains.
